Labor leaders are calling on Governor Ned Lamont to keep tax hikes for the rich on the table as the legislature looks to solve Connecticut’s budget crisis.

Asserting that Connecticut’s wealthiest residents can afford to pay more, a group of union and religious leaders and front-line workers asked lawmakers Monday to consider “alternatives to austerity,” and to invest in laws and services that will grow the state’s economy and support its workforce.
