U.S. Senator Chris Murphy held a virtual Town Hall meeting with Connecticut workers from the Service Employees International Union on Tuesday at 12:00PM to discuss the impact of coronavirus.
As service providers and essential workers in Connecticut, many SEIU members are bravely showing up to do their jobs every day on the front lines of the coronavirus crisis. Workers are demanding effective personal protection equipment, as well as economic protections for workers when they get sick from exposure to the virus.
With some 65,000 workers in Connecticut, SEIU is represented by local leaders and workers from the New England Health Care Employees Union (1199NE), 32BJ, CSEA and CEUI. These local unions represent workers in the healthcare, childcare, security, maintenance and transportation sectors.
